    Hi Jim,

I really like the low angle on this one, the pose and exposure are very well done. Can you tell us how you captured this image? was this from a blind? or were you in the water?

    Hi Jim,

The reason I asked is because I tried photographing these guys from my Kayak but they are afraid of it. I have to try your tip.

    Thank you for sharing!

Perfect exposure on a difficult bird. And a gorgeous specimen to boot. I wish that the whole bird and the head were a bit more parallel to the frame. All in all, well done and thanks for the tip. I have tried that on these guys and never had them swim in...

Keep up the good work. lal, artie

Sweet shot, Jim!! That one was very close. Did you get that at the tide gate or the parking lot?

    Beautiful image, Jim!
The low angle and birds pose work great for me,
feels like I'm in the water and he's swimming over.

I just love it when you get the iridescence in the feathers of these guys. Lovely image!

Good to see you here, Jim. Great angle and beautiful specimen. Maybe a little bit less contrast? But that is nitpicking. :)

Gorgeous bird Jim. Love the low angle too. The whites are to the edge but this is one tough bird to get the exposure right.

Nicely captured and digitally processed Jim. What a treat having this little guy swim directly at us and as close as he did. I have similar files that I too am very happy with! The exposure and whites are on the edge but look good on my monitor - calibrated to a white luminance of 140.

Hi Jim, Nice to see you here... Great low angle.. Fine comp and exposure on a tough subject. Just a tad bit less room on the left would have put the eye closer to a golden mean power point. Well done...
