I'll go out on a limb here and say it is even bloody cute! :D Looks like it's smirking at you too.
Like the framing by the tree trunk on the RHS and the feather coloring is spectacular. I've never seen a rusty owl like this guy. Nice how it kind of belnds with the tree in the BG.

:) Thanks a lot for sharing.

One sleepy owl, very nice pose looks like she's leaning against the tree to take a nap. Why LV focus?!! did you have the 2X TC on?

Live View Focus cause my subject wasn't moving and it's dead nuts perfect every time :) It is far more precise that AF or manual.

    Jim:

Nice to see a red morph. Good techs, like the composition and textures.

    Off a tripod I assume?

    Definitely off a tripod at 1/80 :)

I thought I'd try a close up crop to make it a bit more personal with the subject.

    Jim:

I thought perhaps you were testing the VR function of your lens! :D

    Pretty darn cute photo.

Super cute--love the unusual red color. Nice details too.

Love it, it has the "feel" of a ginger kitten:D, especially on the thumbnail A lovely colour with nice plumage detail.

I like it as presented Jim. One of these days your going to get one with eyes wide open. :) I admire your persistence.

Well....these birds sleep during the day and rarely open their eyes during the winter from what I've seen.

They are cute no matter what :)
