    Exclamation Virus Warning - Scam

    Hello BPN Community,
    I just received PM's from members to let me know they received the following message:

    A virus alert was noticed on your computer.
    We highly recommend you to check your computer and perform online virus check at our site immediately: http://antivir-labs.com/dennis handa;allanrube;Rocky Sharwell;David Jernigan;Byron Holston



    THIS IS A SCAM! Do not follow the link!!!!


    We are actively investigating this attack on BPN and it's members.

    James, I note that the URL you listed in your message above appears to be active, i.e., you can click on it and it will take you to the website. It might be a good idea to disarm it before someone accidentally clicks into it (I'm not sure what is the best way to do this -- perhaps by inserting additional characters, or by changing http to hxxp).

    Axel,
    James' notice was posted on several of the BPN forums. I've just now checked several of them and they all still show "http", and indeed, as Eric said, the link is still active. Probably a good idea to delete the link entirely and just leave the info about the message to make sure none of our members fall for this phish.
