White Birch In Fog

This was taken after my South Portland Headlight image, posted 2 days ago. It was here I dropped my 5D with the 28-135 1 1/2 feet onto the pavement. It still works fine. I drove by initially then turned around. I was struck by the warm light and the dense fog. By the time I got set up, the fog was thinner and the warm light was colder. But I was determined to take it anyway. I wanted to keep my creative juices flowing and expand my photographic boundaries. What do you think of it?

Canon EOS 5D, Shooting Date/Time 2/18/2008 13:48:34, Tv(Shutter Speed) 1/6Sec. Av(Aperture Value) F22, Evaluative metering, Exposure Compensation +2/3, ISO 100, Lens EF28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, Focal Length 120.0 mm, Image size 4368 x 2912, Image Quality RAW, Flash Off, White Balance Auto, AF mode One-Shot AF, Picture Style Standard. From tripod, with cable release, about 3 feet off of ground. Double bubble used. The ground is naturally slopped to the wharf.

Excellent mood Grady !!! Might play around with tiny local density changes but is one difficult image to improve Very appealing to me !!!

Increasing the local contrast using the following is one method:

Local Contrast Enhancement using Unsharp Mask: Amount 20%, Radius 30, Threshold 4
Stronger Local Contrast Enhancement using Unsharp Mask: Amount 20%, Radius 60, Threshold 4

I like the composition and the monotone look.

I like it, I think a slight curves adjustment to add contrast would make it even better.

To me the image is leaning to the right slightly, is it the tree, the horiz, or me?
