    Giant Wing Petrel (tube nose)

    On deck sailing approx. 15-20 knots through Drake's Passage, moderate seas & stiff breeze, 20-30 degree F. 2 months ago.

    EOS 40D, 70-200/2.8 @200mm, 1.4x TC, Better Beamer/Flash @-1EV
    1/2000, f/4, ISO 400, handheld, manual exposure

    Better Beamer flash extender effectiveness at high speed and distance update.

    I believe there is a shadow on the belly caused by the flash when he flew in close.
    A side note, he just took a dip & sometimes I would notice ice crystals, also I believe from the flash.

    I'm always glad to see tubenoses and this one looks very good as does the pose. Maybe a bit more room to fly into.
