Default need help unzipping with IE?

I have downloaded an update for Topazdetail (a zip file) and it requires opening with IE? When I double click, IE goes crazy!!! What am I doing wrong? Any help will be appreciated. Dan

It shouldn't need to open with IE. Are you on a mac or windows. Either way, it sounds like the default application for Zip files is wrong. On windows, right click and go to "open with" and choose winzip or winrar whatever you have. On Mac, get info on the file and go to the "open with" area and choose "Archive utility".

    Hope that helps

Thanks Dug. I had tried that and discovered that Winzip was not there? I don't know what happened to it but I have downloaded the latest version, problem solved.

    Dan,

If using Vista or Win7 you should be able to view and open zip files right in explorer.
