I've done some selective dodging and burning and decided to go with a high contrast version. no sharpening or noise reduction done.

500 f/4 IS, tripod, manual exposure.

Interesting effect. I generally like at least the eye to be sharp, even on my blurs. There is a pronounced blue color cast, but perhaps that is the effect you were after.

Thanks Randy - I'd like the eye to be a bit sharper here as well. I bumped up the saturation to make up for the lack of scenery, was also hoping that the blue/green mood would create an oceanic theme.

Interesting shot Dave and I like the idea. I like the thought of the bird off centre. I also wonder if lightening the eye and adding some contrast would help. The one thing I do find a bit distracting is the tip of the beak not being clear of the wing. Dave
