The weather here in Ft.Myers Beach has been bad the past 3 days. Overcast and rain. Not what I came to Florida for. Got out on the lagoon this AM. it looked like the weather was going to change and the light was beautiful , for about 10 minutes. Then the clouds and rain came in again. Managed a few images before returning to the room.
Loverly EXP and light. And I love the look of the neck feathers. You might wish to lose the o-o-f mangrove just to our right of the bird. If you could have gotten even 6 inches higher you could have set the bird's head fully against a mud BKGR; the intersection of the shoreline and the bird's head is distracting.

Sorry to hear about the weather, always a bummer to travel far, and not be able to do what you went for.
The light is sweet, the display of feathers and feet nice.
Looks like a dust bunny or spot straight up from the middle of the bill, about 1" on my monitor.
Good thing you were out there for the correct 10 minutes, Joe. The light is beautiful. Nice pose and excellent sharpness. Looks like a sensor dust spot in the background above the beak - an easy fix. :)
While I agree about the head intersecting with the horizon, I think this is one of your best Joe. The lovely pink light, exposure, and the display of feathers are all great.
