    Default Loggerhead Shrike

For this shot, I found an ugly fencepost this bird kept percing on, and simply attached my own perch to the top to make it a little more attractive.

Fantastic shot. Great BG, light and colors. Lovely perch and perfect head angle.
A stunning shot of this species.

This is one beautiful shot Mathew with enough space around. Very sharp, good eye contact and exposure. Congrats!!

Wonderful portrait. Great eye contact and a clean, colorful BG's adding extra focus on the bright shrike. Great!

Just lovely. THe soft light, perch, and BG are all excellent. Best songbird shot I have seen on this forum in a while.

I love everything about this. Exposure, sharpness, HA. Great tip on the perch, I am going to borrow that one if you don't mind. ;)

That stuff growing on the perch looks like grass, but I know it isn't. Does anyone know what it is? It seems to like to grown on dead logs and sticks in oak groves in the Southern US. Really beautiful stuff.
