A cool pose, excellent sharpness, and a clean background. Some of the whites on the legs look very bright - you might try to tone them down a little. Because the bird is looking down, you might consider an alternate crop with a bit less room on top, but more on the bottom for it to look into. Well done.

I never see your other image but I do like this one very much, sharp with lots of fine details and a beautiful background to boost. Agree about toning down the legs a bit. Wish there is a perch at the bottom since the bird is looking down and my eye follow the bird down, just wish there an anchor point there.
