    Found this Ruddy Turnstone at my local Inlet and was able to get him on the rocks with the water moving out on the tide behind him creating a creamy BG.

    40D, 70-200 f/4 IS, 1/160 at f/6.3, Aperture Priority, Evaluative Metered +1, Raw, ISO 400, Hand held, Cropped and a little cloning on the rock to clean up the __ :D

    I like the soft light, sharpness, BG and head angle. There is a slight sharpening halo around the bill. I would try to get more details in the blacks and the whites have a slight reddish cast. Maybe a tighter crop?

    Beautiful light and colors. I like the composition. I agree with Axel on a slightly tighter crop. But this is already great as it is.

    Reworked the image per Axels suggestions, open up on the blacks and removed the color cast in the whites left the crop as it was since I kind of like the small bird in a big world feel of it.

    Hey Don - the colors in this image are gorgeous and I really like the comp. Beautiful granite? perch as well.
