    Default Steppe Buzzard take off

I encountered a lot of these guys in the country, sitting on fence posts. Drive past at speed, no problem, slow down for a shot - gone. I was fairly lucky with this guy. I remember stopping a fair distance away, as he was sitting on a gate post. Whilst walking towards him, I had my camera ready for the shot. I cloned out the fence post and gate, and the rest is naturally OOF farmland. Taken in the country in the Cape, 6.18pm

Very nice photo. I like the nice spread of the wings and tail feathers. It looks like you were able to get quite close, good for you. BG colours complement the bird very well.

I love the wing position, BG sharpness and fanned tail. One of your best Stuart, well done.

Love the wing position and the way the bird looks against the BG. The head is angled slightly away, but overall like the image a lot.

Great wing position, and beautifully complimentary BG. Very nicely captured moment.

Sharpness and BG look good. Adding to the other comments, I wish the underwings were more evenly lit and would put the bird a little bit further to the right in the frame.

Great comp and colors in the background. Nice highlight in the eye as well.

That is so true of a lot of bird species Stuart, very frustrating indeed.
You've done very well with this fine in flight pose, great detail, sharpness & killer BG. Well done.
