The sun was still quite low when this was taken. 50D, 500mm at f/4, 1/500, ISO800. I removed some sticks sticking up a bit higher than others and cropped to a pano. Dave

I like the wide crop and composition. The light angle might not be ideal, but the similar wing position adds to it.

I like the comp Dave, together with the pastel colours of the BG. The symmetry of the swans works well.

I agree with the comments about the symmetry of the swans working well. I also like the curves in the background mimic-ing (a word?) the curves of the swans wings. The pastels of the photo give a indication of coldness but the light helps to warm the photo.
I think I would crop the bottom grasses a bit and have a little more on the top (however, I may not be the person to ask about the crop:p).

Thanks for the comments and i am glad that i processed the pastels as pastels. The grass is not that attractive and do wish it was not there at all. Dave

I like the mood of this one, Dave. Nice landing poses by the birds and the pano crop works well. The OOF foreground helps to focus my attention on the rest of the scene. As a tweak, you might consider removing a bit more of the taller OOF grass directly under the 2 birds. :)
