Yesterday we all were down at Anhinga with our teacher and mentor, Fabs. The only thing we forgot was to let the birds know we were coming. This Green Heron was the hit of the day and must have had more photographers taking it's picture than J. Lo's paparazzi. I photographed this beauty with my Canon 5D Mk II just after sunrise. ISO 1600, f/2.8, 1/400 sec, EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, 200mm, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, Auto WB, No Flash. Comments are welcome!

The image shows fine feather detail, nice HA and great eye. The composition is unique and I like feet together and the open mouth. Can only wish for a better BG (take what you get sometimes) - well done Richard - nice HH shot!

A really crisp image of a stunning bird, especially love that bright eye and nice feather detail. Agree background could be better but its not always possible to change. ISO performance is wonderful.
