Photographed this scaup at a local pond the other night. I really like the color of the eyes. Cropped to vert from horizontal.

Dan:

The eyes are striking. Nice head on pose. I like the colors with play of yellow/browns and blues in the BG.
I wish the light had been more from behind you, but it is interesting this way.
Might consider a minor crop up from the bottom, as the reflection isn't strong enough to add a lot.

Thanks for the comments and the crop suggestion. Was kind of undecided if I wanted to crop into the reflection.

I would not crop as I think the reflection is nice. Agree that more even lighting on the subject would be better. Cool eyes though.
