I like the pose and the perch Craig. The BG is nice too. I see this image as a vertical crop with the bird placed relatively high in the frame. The bird could go a little brighter, and I might back off on the contrast a bit. Nicely done!

    Craig,

What a great find, love the perch and pose. I would like to walk up on one like this someday - wow!

Nice detail for 1/100, was this on a tripod/bean-bag? If not, you must be a surgeon :). Nice HA and eye, and love the BG. I can tell you are struggling with BG noise, not sure what's up with that? On balance, I might take a tad off the bottom - well done sir!!

Lots to like here - a tad contrasty - some NR on the BG will really improve.
Would lighten the eye just a tad.
The D2 is a generation behind in terms of noise - careful use of some NR software should produce great results.
    Keep em coming :)

Here is a vertical crop as Doug suggested. Lighten image in curves. Tried to reduce contrast. will look into a better noise reducing software.
    Thanks, Craig

The repost is a big improvement Craig! I'd still crop a little off the right to keep the bird out of the center of the frame. Good job!

Great repost. The lowered contrast makes a huge difference to me.
