Nashville received 7 inches of snow yesterday. I went to the park and found the darkest bird I could.

Jeff - You nailed it. Exposure looks perfect to me, as well as wonderful feather detail and color. Very nicely done! Enjoy the snow.

Thanks Bill, we average 9" a year so getting 7 at one time almost shuts the city down. Good luck trying to get bread and mike here :).

Good exposure Jeff, and I like the bird all fluffed up. Might sharpen the eye a bit more. How are you liking the 7D compared to your old camera?

Jackie, too funny. Once I posted the image I said,.."I should have sharpened the eye a bit more". nice catch!

I like the 7D and some additional field guilds are now coming out that I find useful. I like the new focusing system and the easy way I can change between 19 point ring of fire and zones for BIF if I want. It is much faster that the 40D of course and the IQ is better IMO. The noise is an issue but I guess considering I get more meg/pixels it is actually better per M/P .

It does have a quick access menu screen on the back that allows for fast changes to things such as:
    Metering mode
    ISO
    AL Servo/One Shot
    M/Av/Tv
    etc
    This is very handy

Thanks Jeff, Al let me try it down in FLA, and it seemed to acquire focus much faster than the 40, but wasn't sure of the rest of the techs. Thanks for filling me in. Next on my wish list.

Hey Jeff, aside from the techs already explored - I love the story this tells! Little guy all fluffed up trying to stay warm... He looks very puzzled at this strange turn of events. Gotta love that even light from the snow and sky. Well done!
