Our last day at S. Georgia Is. we had a taste of the King Penguins. We were supposed to go to a KP colony - the largest in Antarctica; unfortunately, the weather decided otherwise!

The little lines through out the bkgrnd are caused by the rain  .

Colors and detail are really nice - especially for conditions. I think the only thing I would do is a tighter crop - some off the top (beak pointing to corner maybe) and more off the right side.
    The eye draws you in.

    Jay:

A striking image, with most unexpected background for a penguin. I really like the flowing, repeating lines in the background. It would have been interesting if you could have taken a step to your left to place the bird completely against the background on the right.

I find myself wanting to see more of the body.

I think Deb's crop idea would work.

either way, I would be tempted to tone down the highlights in the left lower corner.

    This is pretty darn neat.

    thanks for sharing.

Good sharpness and the BG makes it special. I would put the bird further to the right in the frame or go for a vertical crop. I agree on toning down highlights, would desaturate the yellows a bit and there seems to be a color cast.
