I posted an image of this guy a while back, but this is a different angle of him. I just liked the colourful BG, that is unusual for the Kruger National Park. I also like how I captured him in the open. Taken last year Sept, in the KNP.

Really like the colors in this one Stuart. The alternating subtle stripes on the animal looks good as does the splash of color provided by the mud on his face. As Peter mentioned, this does have a nice 3D look. Might just be me but I think it needs a very tiny CW rotation. Nice image.

Stuart this is a really really, great portrait!!!

I love it, it ticks all the boxes for me. Would like a tad more room top & lhs, less rhs, but I am being 'picky'. An animal Andy Rouse would say as being, 'galactically challenged'!

I would like to think a contender for IOTW:)

    Thanks for posting this one.

    cheers

does pop immensely - and I know which parts of Kruger you frequent and how little open space there is so well done on getting nice and clear. lovely colours and DOF.

Good eye contact, nice subdued lighting with good color overall with the mud on the muzzle adding that little extra touch! Well done!

I tried to get one of these guys out in the open in Kruger last year, and failed miserably. So, I know how difficult this is. Very well done! :)

Now that is a beast that seems to have lots of texture to it. A portrait showing detail of the head & shoulders (perhaps back to the end of the mane) might prove interesting.
