Myer do you know how to do a quick mask?, you could take some feathers from the opposite side and bring them over.

Hi Myer Jackie is correct Quick mask and some forms of cloning !! For the quick mask would suggest getting Robert O'tooles CD It is a complex procedure but once you learn will be easy to use !!

Hi Myer, There are probably severals ways to remove the out of focus leaves in front on the owl. However, I agree with Jackie that the using a couple of quick masks would be the way I would go about it. Using quick-masks, move tool, and the warp tool is a pretty effective way to fix problems like yours.

I posted an example of removing the problem leaves using techniques I learned from Robert O'Toole's APTATS-1.

If your not familiar with quick masking I would highly suggest checking out Robert O'Toole's APTATS-1. He has several excellent tutorials on using quick masking to enhance images. He explains the procedure in easy to understand steps. I now use these methods routinely. I feel the APTATS 1 and 2 are worth every penny (I own both and no I do not receive any compensation for the endorsement). You can find these on Arthur Morris BIrds as Art site.

Also for this repost I also toned down the light spot in the background a little. I cropped from both side to place the eye toward the rule of thirds upper right hand corner of the frame (this is just my personal preference).

Note: I did this quickly. I sure you could do a better job with the original file and a little more time.

    Hope this helps.

I must have been working on this when Alfred posted. Sorry for the repeat message.

Be careful about repeating patterns. In response #4 the feathers at the lower right repeat. That is a sure sign of repetitive cloning.
