    Hi Guys,

Allthough the name "common"-Teal does suspect otherwise Teal's are a big rarity in our country and hard to get close to.
I was lucky that the lake where this was shot was frozen and melting again a little bit so there was just a small layer of water on top of it giving me the chance to photograph this Teal up close and with a nice reflection.

    Greetings,

    Jeroen Stel

    Hi Jeroen,
That little layer of water on the ice sure makes for a sweet reflection! Love the pose and light. The headangle leaves something to be desired, also the eye looks a bit soft. Otherwise a perfect shot, nice crop too!

A bird standing on melting ice is something I will probably never see in Australia. Very nice reflection, I am seeing a little to much noise in the wing feathers.

Hi JEroen, great light and pose, nits have been covered, congrats in getting an un-common common bird :)

I like the seamless BG created by the ice and melting water. Always nice to get something you don't see often. The minor nits were mentioned.

Great light, composition, pose and reflection. Adding to the other comments, the catchlight looks quite big and might add to the perception of softness.

Beautiful shot Jeroen, very unique. The reflection is sweet, no real nits here.

Superb colour and pose with a great reflection Jeroen. IMO more space in front and rear of bird would improve composition, but nobody else has made mention so must be just me ;)
