From Wacodahattchee Wetlands this morning trying high ISO on the MK4 for early morning flight images. Very little wind so not much flight chances, birds taking off every direction.

    Comments welcome and much appreciated

OK, you two, another high ISO battle ? :):D

Like the colors and the pose. I wonder if there would be more details top side of the bird though.

Hi Desmond No battle as far as I'm concern, right now the king is the D3s !!! :)

Good point about the white detail, Fabs pointed out some time back the one thing high ISO was not delivering is fine feather detail. For some images lets say 6400 would be fully usable but not for birds.

Will start testing to see how high can I go and still have detail, just having low noise is not enough.

Really nice low light shot Al. Let us know how high you think you can go with the Mark IV. Be nice to see some enlarged sample shots.

Lovely pose and composition. Beautiful BG except for the bright spot at the top, which I would be inclined to get rid of were it mine. Agree about the detail issue topside. No noise at all on my screen.
