Default Are You Ready to Mate?

Some years ago I was photographing an Anhinga along with a naturalist from the Audubon Society. He said to me over and over again "Get the Eye, get the eye". When the Anhinga is ready to mate the eye turns emerald in color. My primary purpose in making this photo was to "Get The Eye".
Image created at Wakodahatchee Wetlands the other day.

    Hi Milt

The eye you did get, perfectly exposed and sharp !! Would suggest when going after these to find one standing on the railing, will usually give you a perfectly clean bg, here the bg is competing with the eye !!

This is an image I captured in January 2009 at Wako. I wonder if it is the same female Anhinga. We have a cleaner bg in this version.

Really sharp Milt agree about the BG, otherwise it would have been a lovely shot. @nd post focuses well on the bird IMHO.

    Hi Milt,
I like the capture...agree on the background element...I like your second image, it needs noise reduction...looking forward to the next one...
