    Great Kiskadee

    Alamo, TX

    D3, 600, ISO 2000, f7, 1/2000, Fill @ -2.3 FV.

You can see the set-up I did for this shot on my blog here. http://alanmurphyphotography.com/blog/

I pre-focused on the cattail and set the focus to manual. As I saw the Kiskadee approach, I just fired the shutter.

I got him right as he was about to land. So much fun when you have multiple birds landing and taking off over and over.

Another beauty Alan, love the comp. Exposure and sharpness look good, would like to brighten the eye area slightly. TFS

Great wings view and very nice set-up. I think the leftmost cattail
could show just a bit more of the stem in a less tight crop.
I got your CD, like it a lot.

Beautiful wing position. Great as is. If your one to remove branches, they are quite a few and a little distracting. The one of the left and maybe the thin one on the right. This would keep your eye on the bird more.
The wway the image is now--it's 2 parts, the bird and the cat tails and 2, almost equal or equal, part image don't work that well. But I love the image.

Alan, you're killing me with these gorgeous shots! I can't wait for better weather to get moving on that CD. This one is beautiful, once again, and I don't mind the cattails at all the way it is. I don't find it distracting, and in fact, I think adds to the natural look of the shot.

    Setup is great.

Wingspread is perfect as is sharpness and exposure.

I really enjoy the light coming through the outstretched wings.

Two things I might have done a bit differently would have been to tine down the bright areas above the bird and also to lighten the dark part of the head to the left of the eye a bit.

Absolutely gorgeous Alan! I love the bird and the spread wings of course, but I also love the multicoloured background and the multiple perches.

    Beautiful.

    Cheers!

Another great image by Alan. A little less room on the left and a little more room on the right . Well done
