Purple Sandpiper on blue BG:) Not sure why is this bird called purple?
I did NR in BG and desaturated the blue cast in the shadows.
Question: I have really hard time getting rid of a slight blue cast
in the center of the bird, did not go away as the rest of it in the shadows.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Very nice frontal view of this bird. Photo seems a little dark and perhaps cool on my monitor. I might crop a bit of oof area out of fg. Sorry i can't answer your questions. Dave

Good-looking specimen, eye contact, sharpness and setting. Too bad the sun was not behind you and a bit more bill/body separation would have been nice. As for the blues, you could select the area and desaturate the blue channel a few points if raising the color temperature in RAW does not fix it. I would also lighten the plumage that is not sunlit.

Axel, that's waht I did, the left part of the bird was very blue, I desaturated it all and it worked everywhere except
in the middle part, I didn't want to warm-up in ACR since I liked the water colour.
    Thanks for the help.

Nice pose, ugly colors... Used the Robert O'Toole Average Blur Color Balance trick and then reduced the RED SAT from that. Then used a QM to lighten the shadowed side. Me thinks that it is a huge improvement... All from Digital Basics & APTATS I & II. :)
