Default Mature Bald Eagle in Snowy Flight

    Full Frame
    D700
    500VR
    f4
    1/1250
    ISO 1250 (auto)
    0.3+ EV
Slight tweaks in NX2 and resize for web.

I do wish the the left wing was raised a little higher and the bird was slightly further back in the frame and just noticed a bright spot in lower right which could be tones down.

    Thanks for looking!

Great mood captured in here. You did well with the exposure too. I assume the big whittish spots are the snow flakes closer to the lens. A slightly tighter crop would make this even stonger IMO.

This is really stunning, would agree about the birds left wing but the mood and snow and background are just awesome. I would also like to see it a little "frame filling" a crop might be just enough.

Love the winter mood and the snow flakes, Scott. Excellent sharpness. I agree that the white spot needs to be toned down as it draws my eye. I think a little cropping will give you the comp you desire (I would suggest taking a little off the right and bottom) and will make the image even stronger. Well done.

A very nice shot of an eagle, and the snow really adds to it. I also think a crop would work fine and good for you to get so close. Dave

thank you Ofer. the big whittish spots are actually snow laden trees in the background.

thank you. I agree with everyone on cropping the image tighter. Steve, if i did have to crop your suggestion would work well.

Perfect self-critique. Love the sharpness and the far under-wing detail.
