Another Trumpeter Swan photographed at a wintering site in Minnesota. 40D, 300 f/4 + 1.4X, 1/1600, f/7.1, ISO 400, hand-held using a BushHawk. I selectively darkened and ran NR on the background. Comments are welcome.

    Hi Steve,
I really like the angle of the swan in this one. The dangling feet and upturned wing tips are big pluses for me as well. Underwing lighting and detail look good too. BG is nice with a complimentary color. Just a real nice shot for me.

Really nice pose and as before, the feet have a lot to do with the image's appeal. To my eyes, the left side of the chest could use some revisiting.

Thanks for your comments Fabs. Just to be clear, are you referring to the bird's left, which is rather bright, or our left which is somewhat in shadow?

So so sharp (on the eye) and a wonderful pose. I like this even better than the last one. With the screen angle adjusted until the calibration strip looked perfect I can see detail in all the whites from here.

The birds left. Detail is there but it looks like a totally different color, almost pink.

Thanks, Fabs. I'll take another look at that area on the original. :)

Great image, Steve. Love the sharpness and the wide wingspread pose.

Excellent exposure on the whites, showing good detail. Good landing posture captured too.
