As I have been experimenting with PS I took an old image of a greater shearwater on the ocean, that I took on a rocking boat over the Hydrographer Canyon at the continental shelf. Cropped adjusted eye and lightened the beak slightly

Hi Myer, I think this is a nice shot. Would like to see the eye a bit more. Like the wings spread out and it looks good and sharp.

Jackie, Thanks for the comments. I did lighten the eye more at first but I did not like the way they looked, but I will try again ;)

    Hi Myer

It is a good pose with the wings up and the water has a good look/feel, the most helpful would have been sun angle at the time of capture. Can lighten and get more detail like you did but will never look as good as the bird evenly illuminated .. btw I will normally pass up a shot and try to get in sun able before making the exposure !!!

btw I would not recommend using the "program" best to use Av so you can choose the aperture, compensation would be the same for both !!

Thanks for the comments Alfred. I have gone to using Av now for almost all my picture. As for the sun illumination because I am sharing the deck on the boat will 90 people all bird watching and photographing and depending on what side of the boat the bird is and the location of the sun hard to get full illumination but I do understand what you are saying
    regards :D
