    Hi Peter - light looks a little harsh, a little more room all around for my personal tastes.
    There seems to be some loss of detail - feather detail looks quite soft or smudged.
    Is this a large crop???

    I like the composition and the exposure techs look alright (might use 0/- EV) to protect the highlights. Remember to always set exposure to protect whites and light areas. I agree with Lance, the image seems to have quality issues that are usually caused in post production. Some possible causes: too large cropping, too much noise reduction, sharpening, etc. Maybe go back to original image and start again using a defined workflow.

    Have you read The Art of Bird Photography II & Digital Basics by Artie Morris. They are must reading in my opinion for any nature photographer.

    I love this species and posted a picture of one months ago. Additionally, look at our Ed Forum too, lot's of good stuff on post-production and field techniques.

    Hi Peter,
    I like the composition and capture, I like the slight head turn, you have a good head angle...agree Mr. Peters and Mr. Cashdollar on the techs. and good advice given...keep them coming...:cool:
