A lower angle wasnt possible, but it seems any lower and I would not have captured his tonsils. LOL. Cape Town is known to be mostly windy, so having a windless morning is a rarity, thus creating a clear reflection too. This was captured in the Milnerton lagoon in Cape Town during my holidays.
Good-looking specimen, I also like the sharpness, calm water, reflection and of course the open bill. I might lighten the water a bit and the blacks in the plumage, and maybe tone down the whites even more.
Wow, Stu, this is a HUGE mouth :)
The angle is what you can get, we have the same problem here in a couple of wetlands where you go on a boardwalk six feet over the water and voila, you got to work from above.
I like the water the color it is, but agree on toning down the whites. TFS.
Hey bro, may have a big mouth but nowhere near as big as my one. :D Love that still water man, the yawn is pretty good too. Well composed and I like the reflection. Re: whites. Look great with my sunnies on. :)
I like the comp and the expression is priceless. The ripples on the perfect water
are excellent too. Agree with other about whites but overall very nice image.
Hi Stuart,
Excellent reflection. Also like the ripples in the water and how he looks like he's sitting on the water rather than in the water (if that makes any sense).
Hi Stu. Love this. I haven't seen a bird whith such a huge open beak before! Like the others I also love the smooth water, the bird is pin sharp and a wonderfully clear reflection.:)
Exposing the whites on this with the calm still blue water couldn’t have been easy and IMO you have done exceptionally well but do agree the whites are slightly hot but super image and great timing.
