Default How Are The 2 TB Drives doing?

My current external 1 TB drives are filling up fast. I noticed that there are several high quality brand name 2 TB drives now available at reasonable prices. How are they doing? In the past the early models of higher capacity drives came with a high rate of issues/failure.

Is it safe to buy a 2 TB drive for long term storage?

3 TB coming soon. That may be why the price is dropping.

Hi Ed. Had a couple of 2TB for almost 2 years now. (not wanting to bring a hex on them, :D), they've been fine so far.

I have a mix of 3 2 tb and 3 1tb drives in my Drobo Pro and all have been working perfectly.

I have an external 2TB drive and no problems so far. I only turn it on to backup or access RAW files.
