The Adelie Penguin is one of the 3 species of "brush-tailed" penguins (genus Pygoscelis) found in Antarctica. The image I'm posting was shot on Petermann Island, Antarctica. I did some cropping and sharpening. As always, I'm looking forward to your comments and suggestions.

love the square crop and the pose is priceless!! my only suggestion would have been to stop down a little and sacrifice some shutter speed. fantastic capture!
I like the pose and look, I like Harold's suggestion for the extra dof, might have covered both eyes !!! .. particularly like he feather detail at both ends !!! Excellent !!! ... as for suggestion .. finding a cleaner bird !!! :) Love this image !!!
I like the climbing idea here Verena! I can see the bird looking over an imaginary edge. The pose and composition work very well together. and you exposure seems spot on in a difficult situation. It would have been easy to underexpose the blacks with that light BG. I tried punching up the sharpness of the head a little in Ps and the image can take it. I'd also think about burning in the dark BG patch a little to lower its impact- may have to protect the flipper with a quickmask to do this.
