    “Soaring”

    This graceful fellow was flying high along the water’s edge in Shark Valley. He was painted with a Nikon D300s, using a Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/4D - IF-ED , with a Nikkor 1.7 T/C.

    Image Solution:
    focal length @ 510mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / 1/2,000sec. - f/9 / exposure comp @ +0.3EV / ISO @ 800 / white balance @ auto / AF - Mode @ AF - C / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution – ambient lighting / tone comp @ 0 degree / hue adjustment @ +1 degree / saturation factor @ +1 degree / support platform – hand held /

    Best way to get them, right overhead !! I like the blue sky bg, for these you could expose one over and get even more underwing detail at the expense of the sky bg !! Looks great both ways !!!

    Nice catch, Gus. I love the wingspread. There's a slight halo running around the bird, either from oversharpening or too much tonal contrast.
