Good Evening, This "Guy" was the leader of the pack. He clearly was the boss, out of the 12 or so Spoonbills. This is my first Spoonie!! What a magnificent bird!

Magnificent they are and you got a good one !!!
Excellent pose, sharp and good exposure ... neck is easy to blow !! Would crop a little from the back then tiny top/bottom to move bird out of center frame. Can decrease saturation on reds a couple of points, they get overdone all on their own !! Very fine image, I would be proud of this one !!!!
Thank-you very much!...First Spoonie, and First Keeper!! Funny, you should suggest the slight adjustment to reposition off center. As soon as i surveyed the preview, i noticed the same thing.
Just goes to show you can indeed teach an old dog new tricks!! It's rewarding to at least see , and understand some of the basics that detail a "Keeper".:)
Don
verry verry good Don , i love your image , it has everything ... i love the play reflection on the cool water . well done .
Do agree with Al's suggestion regarding the bird in the center of the frame. Excellent exposure and composition.
Congrats on your first spooney
Beautiful capture Don,
This is one sweet image, love the lighting. Good advice given by Mr.Forns. The color rendition and feather details are superb. Keep them coming...
Nice one Don, I cropped this to pull the bird out of the center of the frame, toned down the whites with a layers curve and mask then did the same thing with the reds on the wing bars. I rotated the image to the left a little since the spoonie looked like he was leaning towards the right. To finish it off I did some noise reduction on the BG and another round of sharpening on the eye. One more thing you are posting your images in the Adobe RGB color space which can cause some problems for people who are not using a browser that can read color profiles. Browsers that do not read profiles will use the sRGB color space as default and this can cause problems with color shifting so it is a good ideal to convert the image to sRGB before posting and fix any issues with color shifts or clipping before you post.

Wow! I'm envious of you Floridians . . . we ain't got these rascals in Southern California . . .
Wonderful spoonie. Congrats on your first one, and on the image itself. Repost really helps take a great image and make it even better, although I might have taken just a tad more off the top to alter the proportions. Nicely done!
Sweet - gorgeous birds - lots to like here.
The repost improves - like it a lot!!
