    Default Ross Geese. environmental shot.

shot at Hagerman wildlife refuge on Sunday. It is an hour's drive north of Dallas near the TX-OK border.

40D. 400f5.6L at f/6.3. iso 320. 1/3200. Cropped for composition. I should probably run a round of sharpening on the birds.

    All C&C welcome.

    Kaustubh:

Pretty good banking poses here. Well exposed. I agree about the sharpening. Might have tried a smaller aperture, as you had plenty of light to allow the extra DOF.

From a comp. standpoint, I wonder what a version without the lead bird would look like. Because he is cutting the horizon line, and is a bit ahead of the other two, I am not sure how well he works for you.

Just how it struck me while looking at the image. I like the tree on right side, balancing the two birds near it.

    Cheers

This is a species I still have to see, thanks for sharing. I like the wide crop and head angles. I might lighten the underside of the wings that are not sunlit.
