Raymond, the sharpness, pose, details and exposure are awesome. The BG is very unique and striking. loved it. Beautiful perch as well. The moss goes very well with the soggy owl and the raindrops. So many things to like about this one.

The perch entering the frame from the corner does create a strong comp. But there is a tad extra negative space at the bottom IMO. if you can crop some more and still keep the perch entering from the corner, it might be better. my 2 cents.

Man, you can tell just how dark it was by the size of the diluted pupils!! The wet soggy look makes the owl look very quirky:) The red BG is quite nice (you say natural...fall foliage?). I actually wish there were more raindrops showing.

    thanks Daniel

Yes, I know this is some kind of maple tree, but not sure the exact name., the rain was intermittent on this day, when we had the great horned there was some wind and heavier rain, and it was interesting... the whole shoot here...

When I was little, I had a teddy bear with big eyes, well, this owl's eyes reminds me that! Love the clarity of the eyes, the BG and perch. A stunning image indeed.

Ray, This is sweet! The BG color is great and the eyes put it over the top.

I love the soggy look and the eyes are great. The red background and green on the branch goes well together. NIcely captured.

Spectacular image and background, really nice overall. Also interesting to see the shoot, thanks for sharing. Are those birds captive and used solely for photography, or are they injured? Nice work!

Super Cute Ray, the BG is killer. And I love the drenched little owl. The eyes really draw you in. Rain would have been the icing.
