This is another "old" image of Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island, which was taken in late afternoon from the top of Haleakaka Crater on Maui. This image was shown before, but not in this interpretation, for those who remember it. The majesty of seeing both symbles of creation is truly awe inspiring. Hope to return someday for another view.
Modifications include; B&W w/Color Adjustment, Sharpen, Film Grain, Toning (from old photo base) & Brightness/Contrast and Frosted Glass.
Nice old feel to this, Mark. I like the color tones. I agree with Denise on the frame being a bit overpowering. Maybe try a narrower frame. Personally, I might remove the two splotches to either side of the volcano plume because to my eye they compete with the volcano plume for attention. Just my $.02, it's a very nice image regardless. :)
I agree on the frame (narrower would be better) and the two blotches (they'd work if they were lower or higher than the smoke plume but right even they do pull your eye away.) I really REALLY like the overall effect here and the image is very original. Nice work, Mark.
