    Default Weekly Theme: Hardwoods Pan

Our fall foilage this past season didn't stay up long, so with very sparse leaf-cover, I did some experimenting with in-camera pans. Not many turned out well, but this was one I liked.

(sorry I missed last weeks theme, but I had a heck of a time getting images to open for some reason)

    suggestions/comments always appreciated :)

Cindy, what a beautiful pan blur. It is so three dimensional that it feels like you could walk right in. I really
like the oranges on the bottom as well as in the tops of the trees.

Shutter speed and motion are right on and the orange tree is perfectly placed. Great image!

Love it Cindy, the burst of red works really nicely with the vertical trees.

So beautiful, Cindy! It's a wonderful blur in color and mood. I think you could also go with a less subtle version where you pulled up the yellow tones a bit in a curves adjustment so they really shined through the trees and then did a little burning/darkening on 2-3 of the darker tree trunks to really pop the contrast. Love the position of the red foliage right at the 1/3 position. Nice!

Its a strong image as presented. I like the reds and the panning effect looks to have worked perfectly. Any possibility of sharing your SS? Would love to see it if you made the changes Julie suggested as well.
