    Default In Camera Effect--I think....

At a roadside rest-stop in Iceland in June 2007 my friend Jim Heupel was kind enough to let me borrow his 100-400 IS lens for a bit. I went to 1/4 second in Tv mode. ISO 50. Evaluative metering +1 stop: 1/4 sec. at f/14 with the EOS-1Ds Mark II. I zoom blurred and twirled at the same time. I took a bunch and was happy with this one.

    Don't be shy--all comments welcome.

Artie, I like the way everything radiates in a swirling motion from the center. I like the colors and the detail
closer to the center and the placement of the center leading your eye upwards. Really neat image:)

Artie, I love the movement in this. The colors are terrific and I knew they were Lupines immediately. The twirl is so nice and adds so much interest.:)

Really different and interesting zoom/twist blur! I like. With that lens it must have been quite a twist/push-or-pull movement to make it happen! Great idea and interesting image.

Thanks all. I love my 70-200 f/4 but yes Kerry, the 1-4 is better for doing zoom blurs as it is a push-pull zoom rather than a twist-zoom. And sometimes the extra reach is handy.
