Photographed at Barnegat Light a few days ago, the Scoter was actually landing. I did not run any NR on bird and BG.

Interesting capture. I really like the splash.
what about the Mark IV?
A very cool action image, Axel. The landing pose and the splash make it special. Impressive IQ for ISO 800 and no NR.
The splash, the posture, and the look are all too good. And I love the crop. Where was the sensor at the moment of capture? Are you using the expanded bit? (Did you post your flight setting elsewhere???)

Sweet action Axel, love the detail in the wings and the splash really makes the shot for me.
Thanks, Artie! I don't have the original file on this computer but I think the sensor was on the bird. I only used the central sensor and just started experimenting with central plus surrounding points, which seems to work well, too. I haven't posted my settings since I'm still going back and forth. As for tracking sensitivity, I use slow or one step between slow and normal.
Axel, I like these head on shots, and this works well for me. I like the wingspread, and colours on his head. Must have been a bumpy landing judging by the size of the splash ;)
This is awesome Axel. I love the pose and the noise is non-existent. :) Thanks for sharing.
