I used Fractalius Impression 1 on this Great blue heron, revealed the heron a bit and I thought it came out like
    an Impressionist painting.:)

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions appreciated.

That is fantastic, Cheryl! I really like how the BG came out and how it adds a bit of whimsy to the image. I would suggest possibly taking a little off the top just to bring the heron more into his own within the frame. The BG colors are lush without being overdone - and the swirls are just beautiful!

I really like how the dominant patterns are in the bg and not so much on the heron, it lends alot of depth to the scene for me. I think Jules' suggestion for a small crop is a good one- I enjoy the color pallette here and the painterly effect is lovely Cheryl :)

Cheryl, The swirling treatment in the BG is kind of Van Goghish. I love the colors and the bird stands out nicely. Another vote for a little off the top.:)Great work!

    Nice image and application Cheryl.

I like the fact that the bird is not overly distorted by the effect. The BG is also nice.
