    This Trumpeter Swan was photographed at a wintering site in Minnesota. 40D, 300 f/4 + 1.4X, 1/1600, f/7.1, ISO 400, hand-held with a BushHawk. Comments are welcome.

    I would liked to have seen a little more distant BG, but other than that, I really love this image. My favorite part are the big feet. Excellent exposure, sharpness, and timing.

    Another vote for the feet, they make the image! Great EXP control and sharpness.

    I like the incoming pose and dangling feet. This is a species I still have to see. I might lighten the plumage that is not sunlit.

    Love the feet too. A crop from the bottom might be considered. Did you get any with the bird fully braking, with more of the underwings exposed? Excellent job with the focus.

    Nice shot, good head angle, love the feet, a bit more wing would have been desirable but you get a real sense of motion as is.

    Thanks Artie. Yes, I got images of these birds in a variety of landing positions. I'll be posting some of these in the near future.
