Oh, I love to dig older folders to find pictures I like ;)
I took this image at my special Snowfinch-place in the Austrian Alps, two years ago.

    How do you like it?

wow. That's a really good species to get :)

Have looked for a good place for quite some time, but didn't find a decent one so far :)

It's true - not so easy to get..

Jan, you don't live far away ;)
Next week I'll probably go there with a guy from the UAE, just tell me when you want to go :)

A lovely mixture of pastel colors here. Nice BG, sharpness, and comp. The snow is exposed perfectly. I do wish the HA was exactly parallel to the sensor for this look back pose, but it is still very nice.

Terrific bird and pose. I love the gradient color of the sky.

    Belated welcome to BPN!

How do I like it? Love it. Love the look back pose, the mountain sky, the snow, colors and detail. I would sharpen it a bit less and maybe a little CCW rotation? Well done.

Ditto all of the positives above. Did you select the BKGR and do something to it? The bird looks a bit cut out, especially the head....

Beautiful look-back pose indeed. Love the image. Agree with less sharpening and CCW rotation. Ausgezeichnet und wilkommen auf BPN! :D

    Thanks to all!
I wanted to repost considering your comments, but I couldn't find a significant difference between the new processed and the above image.

Art: Yes, I gave masks a try, for the first time. But I didn't do anything more than only sharpening the bird and only applying noise-reduction to the background.. I checked the mask now, if the bg-layer touches the bird anywhere or something.. But couldn't find anything.

    regards, Leander

It is possible that either of those did it, but then nobody else noted it but me so it might very well be non-existant... :) :) :)
