Beautiful light and pose, exposure is right on and sharpness is excellent. I would clean up the "whitewash" on the leaves in the LRC.

Seems the entire image went "cold" in your repost. The light in your original post has that nice warm glow, not only on the Heron but also the berries and leaves of the BG, that shouldn't have been changed. The warm sunrise light is what made this image outstanding, the whitewash was just a distraction, work only on that area (clone, burn, etc.).

P.S. Is the activity picking up in Venice? I plan on going there in early March. Thanks

Jim, I'm not sure what you see on your screen, but both images look identical on mine. I used Viveza only on the LRC lowering the blues and darkening the light areas and never touched the other parts. I even went back and turned off the layer adjustment to see if something happened, but nothing changed other than the correction area. Sorry if it looks different to you.....

Richard, Sorry, maybe it is my monitor but I do see a distinct difference in the color tones between the two posts. Does anybody else see a difference, or do the two images look identical except for the LRC?

    hi Richard
I looked at both images in Preview (on a Mac), I can see no difference except for the LRC. This is another super image. The light, the berries, breeding plumage sharpness are excellent.
    Cheers

The colors are definately different between the two posts, you can check this with the eye dropper tool in PS. I like the original warm and natural colors. Excellent shot showing the enviroment and nice details, just wish for direct eye contact. Well done.

It is another case of what happens with computers. I checked both images with an eyedropper and they are identical. I have been checking my original images (.PSD files) and not the converted JPEG's. Maybe something happened in the conversion.

Now the colors look identical, did you update the file? maybe the server had cached a different file from before?

I do see the differences in the images Rich. The re post is much better after having removed the whitewash in the original.

Your first post has an sRGB profile embedded. The repost has a ProPhotoRGB profile. The two images look the same if you're viewing them on a color-managed application. If you have a non-color managed browser -- or use Firefox with color management turned off (as I do), the ProPhoto image looks much cooler.

Even with more color-managed browsers in use, it's probably still safest to use sRGB when posting on the web.

At least we got to the bottom of it. I forgot to convert the image to sRGB after working on it.......

That explains it, I've been using another computer with IE (no color management). Regardless, the image is very well done both artistically and technically.

Sweet light and nothing not to like here - IMHO.
    Big Congrats :)
