Default Old Skimmer at Merritt Island NWR

Coming down from Oldie Week with a few remaining images that didn't have time to be presented in the normal viewing.

This image of a Skimmer reflection was taken at Merritt Island NWR last year. I ran it through DAP watercolor and decided to try it with an old image effect. The results appeared to be satisfactory, so I share it with you for your viewing pleasure.

Modifications include; DAP Watercolor, Tone BG, Adjustment of Brightness and Contrast.

    Enjoy!

Mark, This is a really old looking image. I like the muted BG colors. The white spots are a nice touch. The reflected wings look great.

Mark, you really achieved an "old" look. The bg looks like you used texture overlays. I like the soft colors also.

I love the overall image but the white spot above his wing really distracts me. I think if it were anywhere else I'd be fine with it. Nice color palette and good use of vintage techniques!

Thanks for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.

The effect is from the old photo of my wife's grandfather. I cut out sections of the age coloring and blended them to create the BG, adjusting the opacity to fit the scene. The white spot is located as on the original old photo. I didn't add any effects to this BG, as it appeared good without cloning. Just to give you the BG on the creation of the toning. ;)
