Red-necked Avocets

Taken late last year on what was my most memeorable bird encounter to date. This is just a small piece of the action as approx. 4000 Red-necked Avocets arrived at their high tide roosting area at Stockton Sandspit. Stockton Sandspit is a RAMSAR listed site and a haven for waders. Located near Newcastle, approx. two hours drive north of Sydney.

Wonderful image Lucky. Lovely light and action. I would crop off the top portion where the land is visible.

Nice comp, I would crop the top portion and just a little bit from the bottom portion. TFS

I agree about cropping the top just enough to eliminate the land portion peeking in. I'd be careful about cropping the bottom though...I like the static birds standing in the water in contrast to the others. I'd just clone out the dark object in LLC.

Nice shot Darryl. Agree with Gerard regarding the crop. Your other Red - necked Avocets shot is one of my all time favorites.;)
