The white reflection in her eyes is our car. 270 mm, she was right above us in the tree in front of a Sociable Weaver nest. Near the confluence, just north of Twee Rivieren D300; 200-400 f4; ISO 800; F8; 0 EV; 1/160; Ap; Matrix; 16h00 FF vertical crop , just loas the landscape frame. Somw very OOF branches on her immediate left, that is the RS of the frame.

Nice perspective Callie, good lighting & detail here, could even go another round of selective USM.
May have been tempted for a wider shot to include it's treed habitat, do you have some wider images?

Love the stare. I would clean up the eyes and agree with a touch more sharpening. Must be a joy to see these cats. TFS

Beautiful leopard, I might have got rid of the branch at bottom left, and perhaps toned down the blue.

A 'nice' shot and IMHO, your best from recent postings. I quite like the closeness and might be tempted to crop a bit more off the top. Agree with Ken about the stick on the lhs, but would clone, not tone down the blue as it is a little distracting. A little more selective USM would help and adding some slight mid tones too.

some great advice given above and definitely your best posting to date Callie - getting the hang of the workflow now I presume :)

I also vote for some more slight sharpening of the leopard and toning down the blue if not cloning it out. What a sighting! Time of day?

I am sure it would have been great watching it over your head. Some good advice already given. I like the image. Experimenting with a wider view would have been good as well. Thanks for sharing.

Really like the eye contact. The warm backgrounds does add a lot of warmth to the image.

Hi Callie, just love that eye contact, and overall well exposed. The colours look good, and another vote to remove the blue. Im surprised at F/8 the nose looks nice and sharp, and the DOF falls away slightly at the ears. Still, well captured.

Thanks guys for looking and the comments, suggestions. First, we were on her, at 400 mm, she filled the frame, The right side was filled with OOF branches, no fixing there unless I wanted to do a lot of cloning.
My neck and back was breaking from the awkward landholding the camera, and every now and then one has to relax and pull everything back in the car.
I agree about the stick and the sky showing, both can easily be removed, and should. However, trying sharpening and NR is what I am at now, cloning is therefore not on my list of to learn and try things, but I take note.
I considered her eyes too, but again as it is cloning, I just left it. Cropping off the top top to balance the space on her left would also be better, agreed, Steve.
Morkel, time is given in write-up.
As for colour cast Ken, I am still totally blond on that one and will have to learn how to do it. I have no clue what colour cast the picture has when it has one, and all pointers will be appreciated.
Thanks again for taking time to point out how to improve, I appreciate it!
