    A juv red tail I would think

    He's doing his best red tailed impression, but I think it is a juv. red shouldered hawk. Bright yellow sere, broad bands on the tail, relatively dark eyes and smaller beak.

    Isaac after looking it over I go along with you ,the bill yep and body looks smaller and the tail for sure .should have held back on the quick ID

    It's a much daintier hawk than the Red-tail as well. Also I don't see the dark band of feathers across the breast of the bird that a RT would show.

    Looks like a juv Red-shouldered Hawk to me.

    If you look at what Isaac stated and add the breast color , size of the bird and as it was said this is very dark but it is a juv red shoulder
