I got a pretty decent shot a few weeks back but the tree branches were conspiring against me this time!

    Cropped about 50%
    500mm
    f/4.5
    1/400th
    ISO 100

Has anyone tried fotosketcher? Works pretty good and it's shareware!

Convert images to all sorts of drawings, paintings, etc. Here's what I just did to the above image in about 45 seconds.

Thanks for the fotosketcher link, this looks cool. I like the Eagle picture, a couple of comments. The light was working against you, note the shadow on the eye area and the highlights on the right side of the face. Hence, the eye lacks brightness and clarity. I like the fotosketcher image better, note the artistic look cleans up the light issues mentioned above - thanks for sharing.

Original: Maybe try to brighten the eye a little bet in PS. I don't mind the OOF limb too much.

Artistic Application: Wow. I really like that presentation.

    Hi Mark,
I like the capture, you have a good head angle, but the light angle cast a shadow on the head. Would lighten the eye a little and selective sharpen it. The ideal would be not having the out of focus tree branches in the way. I like the artistic rendition with the painting program...looking forward to your next one...

Thanks for the comments. Yes, I agree about the lighting. I was a little too eager at the time to get the shot - but I think I could have moved a little more putting the sun more at my back rather than over my right shoulder.

I'm going to work in my selective brightening and sharpening skills this week.

That fotosketcher app is pretty addicting and just too easy to use - That guys could easily make $20 or $30 a copy if he wanted to!

Great look-back pose. Agree with previous comments. Thanks for the fotosketcher link. I've tried some PS filters for similar reasons when an image has some unavoidable imperfections. I like the artistic repost.
