    was lucky to come across one of these yesterday, not nearly as common as their American counterparts.

    Exposure: 1/250
    Aperture: f/5.6
    Focal Length: 500 mm
    ISO Speed: 400
    Exposure Bias: +1/3 EV
    Flash: On, Return detected
    A-priority

    D300 + 500mm f4 AFS

    Beautiful looking duck captured very well. Might try to take the green area out of the BG. I think this image is worth the effort.

    I love everything except the green things in the background, would love for them to go away.

    Mouth open a super plus for me - was it close to the shore line or were you on a kayak ? The angle is really nice.

    I am really liking that you got the open bill Paul. The details in the duck are sweet. I never knew the chest was this pink looking. Well captured.

    Thanks for the c&C everyone, i was laid down on a wooden dock at a little urban lake in Vancouver called Trout Lake and the birds were coming in fairly close to the dock.
    Avoiding getting the submerged shopping cart and floating beer cans in the shot was the tricky part.

    Very well exposed. Excellent shooting angle as well. Open beak as always a plus. Loved the water texture a lot. Congrats.
